Kasie Hunt started her journalistic career in January 2005 as an intern in NBC News’ Washington D.C. Metro Area’s politics section. She worked with NBC for five years until leaving in May 2005. She began working with The Associated Press as a News Assistant in May 2006 and stayed for a year and a month before leaving in May 2007. From July 2008 through February 2010, she worked as a health policy correspondent for National Journal’s CongressDaily, covering the passage of the Affordable Care Act.
She subsequently joined Politico in January 2010, covering the GOP nomination races in Iowa and New Hampshire as well as the 2010 midterm elections, until leaving in August 2011. Hunt began working as a national political correspondent for the Associated Press in August 2011 and continued until January 2013. She also covered Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign in 2012.
Hunt joined NBC News in January 2013 and worked as an off-air correspondent for the network until July 2014. She then began appearing on MSNBC programs on a regular basis.
