Career
From 1976 until 1979, Kaity Tong worked as a reporter for KPIX-TV in San Francisco. In December 1979, she was named co-anchor of newscasts on KCRA-TV in Sacramento, California. In 1981, she joined WABC-TV in New York City. Within two years, she was promoted to co-anchor, working with Tom Snyder and Ernie Anastos. She has also worked as a newscaster for television series and films such as Spider-Man, City Hall, Marci X, and Night Falls on Manhattan.
She became the station’s primary female anchor in 1992. Surprisingly, she is still employed by the station. She was the first woman to be awarded by Rotary International and the New York Women’s Agenda with Star award. She also received the Chinese-American Planning Council’s Distinguished Woman award.
