Julio José Iglesias de la Cueva was born in Madrid, Spain, on September 23, 1943. Julio Iglesias Sr., his father, was a well-known gynecologist who died in 2005, and his mother, Maria del Rosario de la Cueva y Perignat, died in 2002. Around 1983, his parents divorced. Julio Iglesias studied law at Madrid’s Universidad CEU San Pablo while also playing football. He was also the goalkeeper for Real Madrid Castilla. Later, he planned to look at the Bell Educational Trust language school in England, but he earned a law degree from the Complutense University of Madrid.
