Childhood and the Beginnings of a Career
Jordyn Huitema was born to wonderful parents in Chilliwack, British Columbia. She began playing football at the age of four, and by the age of ten, she was a member of the Chilliwack FC boy’s football team. When she initially came, many wondered, “Why is a girl in a jersey?” She was constantly subjected to remarks and looks, but it didn’t stop her from playing or doing what she wanted to do.
She joined Surrey United in the BCSPL when she was 12 years old. She played the sport for enjoyment until she was 13 years old when she began to take it seriously. According to her, 2012 was a watershed moment for her because she became more completely in love with the sport and realized she wanted to be on the podium with the team. She joined the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Girls Elite program in 2015, in collaboration with BC Soccer. She was asked to practice with the senior squad at the age of 14 after her outstanding performance at the youth level.
She realized she needed to start early if she wanted to succeed at the World Cup, so she graduated early, traveled to Paris without a contract, and slept in a hotel for six months before the World Cup to obtain the finest training. She joined Paris Saint-Germain at the age of 18 in 2019 and became the first female athlete to become a professional after graduating from high school.
Her two brothers are also athletes.
Huitema has two brothers, both of whom play sports. Her brother Brody is a former member of the Vancouver Whitecaps residency and played for Duke University, while her other brother Trent played ice hockey for the Canadian junior “A” ice hockey club Humboldt Broncos in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.
She dated Davies for five years until they split up.
Huitema and Davies began dating in 2017 and quickly became a power couple who inspired many. In 2021, she was put to the test with NoStylist, where she discussed the degree of competitiveness between herself and Davies. She said that when they didn’t see one other for months, they planned something romantic at home, such as creating gingerbread homes, and that when they did see each other every week, they spent their time bowling or playing soccer against each other in his backyard Teqball table.
She said at the time that they were constantly competing against one other. She also admitted to borrowing half of Davies’ clothing, joking that she travels to Munich with empty luggage and returns to Paris with a full suitcase since all of his things fit her exactly enormous except for her jeans. Their relationship seemed solid, and everybody anticipated them to marry sooner or later, but things did not go as planned. Rumors about their break-up and Huitema’s unfaithfulness started to circulate.
Davies put an end to their five-year relationship by declaring their separation in 2022. He also defended Huitema, telling followers that the rumors of Huitema’s infidelity were unfounded. He said that Huitema is a decent person whom he respects, and he urged everyone to respect their privacy. A fan on TikTok questioned her why she cheated on Davies months after their separation, and she answered by stating she was not the one who cheated.
