John Stamos never forgets his background or heritage. Stamos was born and reared in the United States, and he presently works in the country’s entertainment business. Regardless, he is proud of his Greek background. Similarly, he appreciates and respects his parents and grandparents for their patience and efforts in providing him with the life he currently has. Here’s all you need to know about Stamos, his heritage, and his parents.
Ethnicity of John Stamos
Stamos is partly Greek via his father, William. William was a first-generation Greek-American who was transported to the United States by his father, John (Stamos’ grandfather). In 2017, when presenting A Capitol Fourth, the Full House star discussed his history and ethnicity (via Good Housekeeping). His forefathers immigrated to the United States in quest of better prospects and a higher level of life.
They aspired to provide a better life for their children and thereby contribute to the American ideal. John arrived in the United States from Greece through Ellis Island. He changed his surname from Stamatopolous to Stamos to offer his family a new identity, a new life, and a new place to call home. The actor and his family were able to live a better life as a result of his hard work. Stamos expressed gratitude to his grandpa for enabling him to experience the American Dream. He also addressed his son Billy, who was named after William, and promised to teach him the teachings.
He delved more into his Greek origin and background. The program is about celebrities that want to learn about their ethnicity, ancestry, and family tree. He discovered on the program that his grandpa was an orphan. Stamos visited his country of Greece, where he saw the Parthenon, Levidi Village, and Nafplio. He also visited Kakouri, his family’s native hamlet, and learned about its history. Kakouri is in Arcadia, which is in Greece’s southern Peloponnese region. The majority of Stamos’ family lives in the United States, although a few remain in Kakouri. The General Hospital actor met his relatives via Who Do You Think You Are?
Parents of John Stamos
Stamos was born in California on August 19, 1963, to restaurateur William and model Loretta. He used to work at his father’s business, a burger place, when he was younger. From a young age, Stamos desired to be an actor. His parents were incredibly supportive of his ambitions and encouraged him throughout his trip. The Muppets Haunted Mansion star had enrolled at Cypress College, but he dropped out after his first semester to pursue a career as an actor. While most parents would frown on their children missing courses, Stamos had his father’s approval.
Stamos’ effort, thankfully, was successful. Not then, a month later, he earned the part of Blackie Parrish on General Hospital. Unfortunately, both William and Loretta are no longer alive. Stamos, on the other hand, praises them whenever he can. He often uploads images of them on social media, gushing about how much he misses his parents. On Mum’s Day in April 2020, he sent a letter to his mother through Good Housekeeping. He wrote about how much he missed her and how his life seemed empty without her. He expressed his gratitude for all Mom had done for him and pledged to do the same for his children.
