The Kissing Booth actor went to Instagram to post a series of photographs from the proposal, revealing that the couple will marry on February 2, 2022. The actress also referred to herself as the “luckiest person alive” and said that spending the rest of her life with her lover seems like a “true dream”:
“It was 2/2/22 when you proposed to me and made me the happiest woman alive.”
Piet took to social media to post many images from the big event. He said that the pair were married in “cold and windy” conditions and referred to King as his “best friend”:
“The weather wasn’t quite ideal. It’s cold and windy. “It’s perfectly imperfect of me to ask my closest friend to spend a lifetime with me.”
Piet said that King “unlocked a degree of love” in him that he was unaware existed. According to The Daily Mail, the engagement occurred in California’s Joshua Tree National Park. Steven Piet and Joey King initially met while shooting The Act on Hulu in 2019. While the former portrayed Gypsy Rose Blanchard on the program, her fiancé acted as co-executive producer and directed two episodes. King previously dated her The Kissing Booth co-star Jacob Elordi, but the couple split up in 2018.

Steven Piet is a director, producer, and writer for cinema and television. He is most recognized for his role in the Hulu series The Act. Piet even worked as a consultant producer on Syfy’s Nightflyers in 2018. According to IMDB, the filmmaker has previously worked in Hollywood as a cinematographer, digital image specialist, and editor.
Piet developed and directed the 2015 feature Uncle John before joining forces with Erik Crary on Nightflyers and Channel Zero. In 2019, the pair also secured a contract with Universal Content Productions and were expected to collaborate on other projects in the future. According to Seventeen, Piet was reared in Chicago and studied cinema at the Savannah College of Art and Design. According to Festival Scope, he directed various projects in Chicago, including broadcast advertisements, music videos, and short films. Steven Piet received further media attention once his connection with Joey King was revealed. The pair met in 2019 and debuted on the red carpet at the Emmys that same year. They made their Instagram romance public in 2020 and eventually placed a ring on it last month.
