Joe Exotic, also known as Tiger King, has filed for divorce from his spouse, Dillon Passage, from jail, where he is serving a 21-year term for plotting Carole Baskin’s murder. Autumn Blackledge, Exotic’s lawyer, told TMZ that the 59-year-old former animal trainer wants his 25-year-old ex will go on with their lives and finish things promptly and amicably.
Joe Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage, filed for divorce in Santa Rosa County, Florida, where he and Passage formerly lived as a married couple and where Passage currently lives. The news came a year after the bartender contacted the prison in Fort Worth, Texas, to break their four-year marriage. Exotic was allegedly unhappy at the moment and considering filing a divorce lawsuit in order to defeat Passage. According to TMZ, Joe Exotic apparently wrote a friend after the phone call, telling them he felt “abandoned and alone” and “just wanted to mean anything to someone.” Although the previous owner of Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park was enraged by the split, Dillon indicated that there were no hard feelings and that Exotic would continue to support him throughout his jail term.
Joe Exotic and Dillon Passage’s lives have progressed.
Exotic and Passage have moved on romantically, according to Blackledge, and “they should each have the ability to love again free from the constraints of marriage.”
“Joe has fallen in love as he nears the conclusion of his cancer treatment. He has no ill will against Dillon, but has been attempting to contact him in order to achieve a divorce settlement for some time.”
While Passage’s manager, Jeff Duncan, tells the site that the former is relieved to have the divorce from Joe finalized.
“Previously, his lawyers created the appropriate documentation on two consecutive times, but Joe did not sign it and subsequently disregarded it. Dillon is relieved to get some closure and is looking forward to making progress with his divorce request to Joseph Maldonado.”
Dillion Passage and his current lover, John, declared their new relationship ‘Instagram official’ in July 2021. The passage said that he would prefer to keep his connection secret for “personal reasons” while posting a picture with him. The Tiger King actor, who was recently sentenced to 21 years in jail for murder-for-hire, also sought that Passage’s surname is taken from his legal name.

The couple’s romance initially came to light as a result of Netflix’s Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness, which premiered its first season in 2020. The series provided viewers with a more in-depth look at the underground world of huge cat breeding, namely Maldonado’s narrative and his battle with Carole Baskin, an animal rights activist and the CEO of Big Cat Rescue. Passage and Maldonado-Passage married in December of last year. Maldonado-Passage, on the other side, was convicted a little more than two years later of trying to pay two other persons to kill Baskin.
The former zookeeper’s sentence was initially set at 22 years in an Oklahoma prison, but a federal court cut it to 21 years in January when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Passage originally backed Joe Exotic, telling the media in June 2020 that they had become used to their situation, but he announced their breakup in March 2021.
