Jim Ross, the well-known commentator, was born on January 3, 1952, in Fort Bragg, California. His mother and father are unknown, but it is said that his paternal grandparents owned a beer store and his maternal grandparents owned a General Store in Westville.
Jim Ross went to Westville High School and was chosen for the baseball team, where he played first base. Jim Ross was a big sports fan when he was younger (football). However, while in college, he did some commentating on the college radio, which is probably where he unknowingly got into this field.
