She signed with the Chicago Red Stars again in 2013 and played in 9 matches before being released. McDonald joined the Seattle Reign FC on June 28, 2013. She signed with the Portland Thorns in 2014 and the Houston Dash in 2015. In 2016, she briefly signed with the Western New York Flash before joining her current club.
She joined the North Carolina Courage in January 2017. In May of the same year, she became the first Nwsl player to score 33 regular season career goals. Jessica scored four goals and helped the team win the NWSL Shield in 2017. Jessica McDonald was named the NWSL Championship’s Most Valuable Player.
