She has had a lifelong interest in athletics since she was a child. Jess and Laura Thomas won gold in the pairs competition at the 2016 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Christchurch.

Jess joined Peloton as a Tread instructor in the fall of 2018 and now teaches running, walking, boot camp, strength, and stretching classes to over two million people globally.
