Jerry Ward, a well-known bodybuilder, died on Friday, July 22, at the age of 46. His death was announced immediately after he complained of hurting his left rib while lugging bags. The official cause of death is yet unclear.
Gary Udit, a bodybuilding promoter, disclosed his death on Instagram, writing:
“With the departure of Jerry Ward today, we lost a wonderful friend.” Jerry died unexpectedly yesterday night. He was in Pittsburgh commenting on the NPC Teen, Collegiate, and Masters Nationals Live Stream. Jerry was an exceptional competitor, judge, expediter, head judge, and PPV commentator in the NPC and IFBB PRO LEAGUE throughout the years.”
Udit also mentioned Jerry Ward’s excellent understanding of bodybuilding and how he was appreciated by everyone who met him in his Instagram post.
Jerry Ward had a rib injury that had exacerbated after using a massage chair
Ward had first complained of hurting his left rib, according to Dave Palumbo of Rx Muscle. He further said that the injury might have been caused by dragging bags to where he was staying owing to job obligations. Ward utilized a massage chair, according to Palumbo, but the rib problem increased after that. Rich, one of Ward’s pals, advised him to see a doctor about his injuries. However, he preferred to sleep it off rather than face the matter. When Rich contacted him on July 23 to remind him of his live stream program, Gary Udit told him that Ward had died. It has not been revealed if Ward’s injuries contributed to his death. More information is likely to be released shortly.
Twitter users pay tribute
Ward’s bodybuilding talents and status as a pundit made him a household celebrity online. When word of his death spread, Twitter was inundated with tributes:
My entire life will be dedicated to carrying on the memory of Jerry Ward, a man who loved me for no reason other than he was a good man and he believed in me. RIP Jerry.
