Jennifer Lynch began her career with her mother, and she had a short cameo in her father’s first feature picture Eraserhead, but her presence was deleted from the final edit. She then worked as a production assistant on her father’s film Blue Velvet (1986). Lynch was asked to write the script Boxing Helena, which she eventually directed. Many actresses, including Madonna, were drawn to her. Sherilyn Fenn was cast as a dominant character in her father’s television series Twin Peaks and the film Wild at Heart.
Lynch returned to the public eye after a long sabbatical with the film Surveillance in 2008.
