Over the weekend, American actor Jake Gyllenhaal presented Saturday Night Live and shared some frank recollections and musical abilities. The 41-year-old singer began by joking about how long it had been since he had hosted SNL and how he was “glad to be back.”
“The last time I held a party was in 2007. Do you remember how long ago that was? That was over 400 Marvel films ago.”

Jake Gyllenhaal also mentioned his 2007 monologue, which included a George W. Bush parody and gags about the first iPhone. The singer also uploaded a photo from back then, in which he was seen donning a wig and a frock and screaming out a song.
“Yeah. There I am in full drag, performing a Dream Girls song to promote a film in which I portrayed a homosexual cowboy. That was really the least troubling aspect of the program.”
Jake Gyllenhaal does not consider himself to be a good method actor.
The Oscar contender reflected on how he came to be seen as “this serious, focused method actor” during the previous 15 years.
“I remember going to the director of Nightcrawler and saying, ‘Get ready for me to drop 48 pounds and win the Oscar.’ Then, a week later, I said, ‘How would you like to see an actor drop 36 pounds and win the Golden Globe?’ Then I arrived on set and said, ‘You’re looking at a man who gained 10 pounds and doesn’t care about awards!'”
Gyllenhaal said that in his quest to become a successful actor, he made mistakes “He “lost how to have fun” as a “serious” actor.
” He described acting as “pretend,” saying that it was intended to be pleasant and full of pleasure, which he should have recognized a long time ago. However, he said that he is returning to the stage because he is “finally embracing” his happiness again. Jake Gyllenhaal claimed that he never anticipated SNL to “come knocking” again so many years after his debut on the program. He wasn’t even sure he’d remember how to host. He did say, though, that being there seemed like everything was suddenly returning. The singer sang a dramatic performance of Celine Dion’s It’s All Coming Back to Me Now with Chloe Fineman, Ego Nwodim, and Cecily Strong backing her up.
