Ismail Jakobs Club career
FC Koln
Jakobs began his career at BC Bliesheim. In 2012, he joined the youth program at FC Koln. After playing for all of the club’s youth teams, he was put on the U21 team that played in the fourth-tier Regionalliga West in 2017.
Achim Beierlorzer, the club’s manager at the time, moved Jakobs up to the first team before the 2019–20 season. He played in his first game on November 8, 2019, against TSG Hoffenheim. On December 18, 2019, Jakobs scored his first professional goal during Eintracht Frankfurt’s 2–4 loss. The club told Jakobs in March 2020 that his contract had been extended until 2022. In October of the same year, he signed another extension that kept him at Koln until July 2024.
