In early 2020, rumors circulated that Akin Akinozu had married Sandra Pestemalciyan, his longtime lover. Several tabloids said that the Hercai star proposed to his girlfriend during the New Year’s holiday in France. Following the original reports, many speculated on Pestemalciyan’s marital status. There was even speculation that the couple would marry in the summer of 2020.
However, when Akinozu was questioned about the proposal and marriage during a March 2020 encounter with FORX5 TV reporters at a mall, he put an end to the rumors. “There was such news, but there is no proposal at the moment,” Akinozu responded, adding that his relationship was going swimmingly. Akinozu and Pestemalciyan have known each other for over nine years and have been romantically involved for around seven years.

Despite the actor’s efforts to dispel misconceptions about his proposal, he continues to be the subject of several marriage rumors. Throughout a Hola! Akinozu stated that he would not be marrying Pestemalciyan anytime soon.
“It’s not even our topic,” he responded, “since we’re both striving to make our joint dream a reality.” “And if marriage becomes a part of our common desire, we will enthusiastically embrace it.”
According to Akinozu, their relationship was founded on friendship. The two desired the same thing and believed they could get it individually. Furthermore, the famous actor stated that he believed that supporting one another on their way to achieving their goal was far more enjoyable and fulfilling. When filming for Hercai was completed in 2021, he was sighted walking his dog in Cihangir with his partner in March 2021. A few days before the sighting, he had stated a desire to take some time off for himself.

Though Akinozu has kept his relationship with his girlfriend mainly private, he has spoken candidly about his beliefs about love. In an interview with Hakan Gence, Akinozu defined himself as a “devoted” man. He claimed that he would never cheat since he viewed adultery as more of a lie to himself than to his girlfriend. With regards to loyalty, I have an opinion. It’s rather a case of self-deception. To my mind, it’s being unfaithful to yourself. Because I see it that way, I avoid situations of unfaithfulness.
In another interview with North America Ten, Akinozu and his Hercai co-star Ebru Sahin addressed a variety of topics, including their thoughts on love. He revealed that he was a staunch believer in love at first glance. He also expressed a desire to fight for love. “I suppose the love for which I am not striving is not loved.”
Akinozu compared love to a teacher, stating that it aids individuals in discovering more about themselves and their lives.
