Ichiro was born in the Japanese town of Kasugai, Aichi. His father, Nobuyuki Suzuki, trained him until he was able to play for any sports team, and his mother, Yoshie Suzuki, are both athlete. Ichiro and his father established a daily schedule that included throwing 50 pitches, fielding 50 infield and 50 outfield balls, hitting 500 pitches, 250 pitching machines, and 250 from his father. He had already decided to dedicate himself and pursue a career as a professional baseball player at the age of 12, and their training became more serious. Kazuyasu Suzuki is his older brother.

Ichiro enrolled at Aikodai High School, where his father advised his coach not to ever praise him in order to spiritually strengthen him. Ichiro Suzuki began his professional baseball career at the age of 18 in Japan’s Pacific League. He won three consecutive MVP Awards and became the first person in Japanese baseball history to have more than 200 hits in a single season.
