Teddy Gentry, the founding member and bass player of Alabama, was arrested on September 12 on a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge. Possession of drug paraphernalia is one of the other offenses. Gentry was hauled into the Cherokee County Jail in northeast Alabama and released within 30 minutes, according to records. According to WHNT, he was arrested at 10:38 a.m. and released at 11:06 a.m. The bond amount is still unclear. Don Murry Grubbs, the band’s spokesperson, was aware of the situation but declined to comment.
