RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race Season 2 premiered on Friday, with nine celebrities hitting the stage. However, before the conclusion of the first episode, award-winning American actress Loretta Devine was out of Season 2 of the hit program. The second season of the VH1 reality series started with a new structure that kept the celebrities’ identities hidden until the conclusion of their elimination. At the conclusion of the program, the winner of “America’s Next Celeb Drag Superstar” will receive $100,000 for their chosen charity.

Loretta Devine was eliminated from RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race

Loretta Devine of Grey’s Anatomy appeared as Fabulosity in season 2 of RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race. She was the show’s second-to-last performer in the first episode. The actress remarked about her role, Fabulosity:

“I’ve had a fascinating career. I never imagined myself in a drag competition, but I’m at an age where I can do whatever the heck I want! What do you think? It’s fresh and exciting, and I can’t wait to see how great I’ll look!”

The actress chose the moniker Fabulosity because she wanted to “be playful and a bit humorous.” She stated:

“Fabulosity, she’s a missing component of all the world’s magnificent diva’s.” That’s what makes her so amazing. I’m simply waiting to see whether I’m going to be successful. This is going to take everyone by surprise. She’s fantastic. She’s a Fabulous.”

The judges gave her performance of Mary J. Blige’s “Just Fine” mixed ratings, asking her to trust herself more. According to Judge Kressley:

“Some of the motions and dancing may have been a bit shaky, but remember that you have the greatest support staff in the whole drag world working with you.”

After Fabulosity was eliminated from the competition, she revealed her true identity as Loretta. In season 2 of the reality show, she was the first competitor to be voted out. Watch the next elimination of RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race season 2 on VH1 on Friday.
