Here Are Five Facts Regarding The Morgan Metzer X Rodney Metzer Case

Morgan Metzer

The Investigation Discovery program Evil Lives Here is gearing up to revisit the horrible case of Morgan Metzer’s attack at the hands of her ex-husband, Rodney Metzer, in a future episode. The case, which drew enough attention from true-crime fans, had a bitter ex-husband dressing up as a masked attacker and attacking his ex-wife roughly a month after their divorce.

What made this instance even more stunning was that Rodney pretended to be the hero of the hour by rushing in to rescue his ex-wife and then promptly contacted the police. His account, however, contained substantial errors that prompted officials to label him as the prime suspect. With further evidence, he was ultimately persuaded to admit to the crime and was sentenced to 70 years in prison, with 25 years served.

Rodney Metzer’s attack on Morgan Metzer: five simple facts

These five simple facts regarding Morgan Metzer’s violent attack summarize the key circumstances of the case.

1) Morgan started dating Rodney when she was just 15 years old.

Morgan and Rodney have spent most of their lives together, despite the tragic result. Morgan first met Rodney when she was 15 years old. She married him when she was 21, and the pair have been together ever since. After their marriage, they even got twins. Morgan sought divorce ten years later after years of tolerating Rodney’s unpleasant tendencies.

2) After they broke up, Rodney tried many times to reconcile with Morgan Metzer.

Rodney continued to pursue the love of his life after the divorce. According to insiders, Rodney repeatedly begged Morgan to give him another opportunity. He even pretended to have cancer in order to get her compassion. Rodney reportedly returned to the residence many times and slept on the sofa after they parted up. Later, authorities discovered a forged medical record and a suicide note. Morgan feels Rodney attempted to prevent her from being with anybody else. She stated:

“He intended to murder both me and himself. I think he didn’t want anybody else to have me since he couldn’t have me. This was all planned; it wasn’t a random act of crazy.”

3) Rodney’s hazy account of how he learned about Morgan caused officials to mistrust him.

Morgan stated he arrived at the scene of the incident soon after it occurred because someone banged on his window and yelled Morgan Metzer’s name. Authorities were not convinced by his statement and arrested him for lying to investigators.

4) Rodney was a victim of gaslighting and domestic violence.

Rodney apparently had strong emotional outbursts, forcing Morgan to hide in the closet with her children. He had also established a pattern of gaslighting, leading Morgan to think for years that she was to blame for certain events. According to accounts, he had previously violently forced himself on his wife.

Rodney admitted to the attack on Morgan Metzer once the proof was revealed. He was accused of a variety of offenses, including abduction, assault, home invasion, armed robbery, aggravated violence, and false imprisonment. He is presently incarcerated in Augusta State Medical Prison in Grovetown, Georgia, and is not expected to be freed until 2045. The next episode of Evil Lies Here will air on Investigation Discovery on July 31, 2022.
