The Heartbreak of the Uy Family’s Devastating Fire Uy, a beloved UPeepz member, and a wonderful inspiration to many, died much too young at the age of 19. Heart Uy died on Wednesday, October 4, after making important contributions to UPeepz at the University of the Philippines. Her legacy will carry on in the dancing community that she loves.
Heart Uy’s hip-hop dance ensemble shared the devastating news of her death on their social media accounts with profound grief. Even before we created a junior squad, UPeepz was lucky to have the presence of an excellent dancer in 2016. She joined us on this journey when she was just ten years old, and her dedication has enhanced our dancing community. According to UPeepz in the tribute, she opened the way for youth teams to participate on international platforms after that.
The award-winning company says the 18-year-old dancer has been with them for over eight years and has “blossomed into a seasoned competitor, leader, and senior choreographer for our team.” They said that she was more than simply a talented dancer; she was also their coach, champion, beloved teammate, and an important part of their dance family, and that their hearts “ached” at the loss of her.
