Smith came to Nashville after signing a deal with EMI Music Publishing at the age of 19. He was a freshman at Texas A&M who had pre-sold his CD to raise studio funds. In 1999, he released his debut studio album, ‘Waiting on Forever,’ under his own label Granger Smith. Following that, he published a number of albums, including ‘Memory Rd.’ (2004), ‘Pockets of Pesos’ (2005), ‘Livin’ Like a Lonestar’ (2006), ‘Don’t Listen to the Radio’ (2009), ‘Poets & Prisoners (2011), and many more.
Granger Smith’s Dirt Road Driveway album reached number 15 on the US Country charts and number 11 on the US indie charts in 2013. Furthermore, in 2012, his live CD ‘Live at the Chicken’ was published. His EPs ‘We Bleed Maroon’ and ‘444’ were out in 2006 and 2015, respectively.
