Gold began her career in doubles competitions with Sean Hickey. At the 2007 U.S. Junior Championships, they finished eighth in junior couples. She also finished fourth in the beginner division at the 2010 US Championships. She raced at the juvenile level the following season but placed sixth at the Midwestern Sectionals and did not qualify for the national finals. Gold won gold in her international start at the Junior Grand Prix. She then qualified for the 2012 U.S. Championships on the juvenile level, where she earned the gold title in both the short and long events. Her 178.92 points set a juvenile woman record at the US Championships. This season, Gold earned gold in all seven of her events building up to the US Championships.
