Meyer has loved volleyball since she was in elementary school. She was chosen in all areas as a junior in high school.
She began playing as a freshman at Florida Gulf Coast University in 2011. She was named to the Atlantic Sun All-Freshmen team and the A-Sun All-Academic team. She was also a member of FGCU’s first sand volleyball team. She was named to the A-Sun Preseason All-Conference team in 2012.
Meyer was named Atlantic Sun Setter of the Year her senior year. She led the conference in assists per set with 11.57 as FGCU finished second in the A-Sun with a 19-11 record.
