Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel portrayed a great mother-daughter pair on Gilmore Girls. Their bond was more like that of closest friends than that of a mother and her child.
Their on-screen chemistry was so strong that fans often questioned if they had met in real life. Or if their on-screen chemistry turned into a friendship in real life. Here is some behind-the-scenes information concerning Graham and Bledel’s relationship.

Unlike most performers cast alongside one other in a project, Graham and Bledel have plunged into the deep end immediately. They initially met at a meal with the show’s founders just before the show began filming. To make matters worse, this was Bledel’s first acting role. Graham completed an immediate impression on Bledel. She was 18 years old at the time, she reasoned.
“She possessed the poise, confidence, and energy of a performer! That was something fresh to me.”
Graham had “dazzled” her. Graham, too, was taken with Bledel right away.
“I also thought [she was] great for the character,” she acknowledged during the duo’s November 2016 interview with Glamour.
“Perfect. I believed we got along well and that we resembled one other in a number of ways “She said. “I was always astonished by how much natural talent she had from the start.”
As a newcomer, Bledel needs assistance acclimating to the enormous role. Graham would also assist her in this regard. Everyone observing thought the two had terrific chemistry. People were particularly drawn to the scenes where Graham would wrap her arms around Bledel or clasp her hand.
However, these were not even mentioned in the script. During the shoot, Graham was directing Bledel to her target.
“The camera work on that program is quite specific, and we had to hit certain marks, which is just a strange notion, especially when you’re starting,” she explained to TODAY in 2015.
In response to the ‘excellent chemistry’ comments,
she also joked, stating, “I’m savagely mauling her. That is the reason.”
Are Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel Real-Life Friends?
Even though they spent much time together on-screen and had a fantastic connection, they didn’t become close friends off-screen.
In March 2014, Graham stated that she and Bledel would “always share a particular affinity.” She also said that they had seen each other previously. Even though they didn’t see each other all the time, they maintained in touch.
Graham was aware of Bledel’s relationship with her now-husband, Vincent Kartheiser. She congratulated them on their Twitter participation.
However, it is unknown whether she was invited to their covert wedding in August 2014. The two had already spent a significant amount of time together at work. Graham stated in 2005 that they had spent time together away from work but that if they spent as much time together on set as they did, they would never be alone.
