Gilbert Gottfried (February 28, 1955 – April 12, 2022) was a stand-up comedian, actor, voice artist, and comedian from the United States. He provided the voice of Iago in the Aladdin animated series. In addition, he provided the voice of Digit in the PBS educational animated series Cyberchase.

Gilbert Gottfried was born in Brooklyn, New York City, on February 28, 1955. There isn’t much information about his family except that his father’s name is Max Gottfried. He has two sisters: Arlene Gottfried, a photographer who died in 2017, and Karen Gottfried.
Gilbert began his career as a teenager with stand-up comedy shows in New York, where he rose to fame and people began to recognize him. In 1980, he appeared on the sketch comedy series “Saturday Night Live.”
In the 1980s, Gottfried landed several acting roles. “Beverly Hills Cop II” was one of his first significant films, grossing up to $300 million.
