Georgie Stone’s forthcoming documentary will tell the tale of a young girl who aspired to make the world a better place for transgender individuals. Stone, who was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, rose to prominence after being the youngest person to get hormone blockers and campaign for transgender rights. More about her life and her forthcoming Netflix documentary, The Dreamlife of Georgie Stone, may be seen below.
Georgie Stone’s Bio
Georgie Stone is an actor, writer, and champion of transgender rights. At the age of ten, she was the youngest person in Australia to undergo hormone blockers. This created a precedent for amending the statute that requires transgender children and their families to petition Australia’s Family Court for stage one therapy.
She began puberty-blocking treatment in 2011, becoming the youngest person in Australia to do so, and she began hormone replacement therapy in 2015. Stone revealed her gender identification in 2014. Stone has a twin brother as well. She is still an advocate for transgender youngsters and is one of Australia’s most well-known transgender people.
Her activism and performance
Stone spoke on Four Corners in 2014 to discuss her court experiences and the need to change the legislation around stage one therapy. She then drove to Canberra with many other families of transgender children to meet with MPs about amending the legislation in 2016. Georgie and her mother were also questioned about the controversy surrounding the Safe Schools Coalition and the significance of the program. She has also commented about the St Kilda Pride Center and her support for transgender children being able to use the restroom of their choosing.
She and her family went on Australian Experience the same year to tell their life story. Stone has also launched a petition on change.org to garner support for legal reform. Stone’s acting credits include appearances on the ABC Me television series Advice to My 12-Year-Old-Self. The audience was given access to 37 interviews with renowned Australian women, each lasting two minutes.
She also appeared in the Australian soap series Neighbours and its spin-off Neighbours: Erinsborough High. Stone’s performance earned her a nomination for Best Daytime Star at the 2020 Inside Soap Awards.
In 2019, it was revealed that she will create and star in The Dreamlife of Georgie Stone, a 20-minute documentary on her own life.
