For the past three years, Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo has been dating his girlfriend Lizzy Yu. They reflected fondly on their moments together as they celebrated their third anniversary on March 5, 2021.
Matarazzo refers to Yu as his “Sunshine.”
Matarazzo would take to Instagram on the previous two anniversaries to wish Yu elaborately heartfelt thoughts. He’d say things like, “I can’t believe I’ve been with this gorgeous girl for an entire year.” He couldn’t “believe it’s been two years with this nugget!” This year, he took a more casual approach, saying, “3 years? That’s kind of cool, I guess. “Sunshine, happy anniversary.”
The photos he posted this year are also quite candid, demonstrating how at ease they have become with one another. This time, three photos were uploaded. The first is a sun-kissed selfie of Yu, followed by her shying away from a cheeky snap while eating, and finally, a goofy one of them together laying down with some clay mask on his face.
Yu also shared a cute photo of herself in Matarazzo’s arm, laughing for the camera while he smiles at her. She referred to her boyfriend as her favorite person and expressed gratitude for the last three years. He has also been posting pictures of her and wishing her a happy birthday. Needless to say, the couple has remained adorable and has kept their romance alive.
Yu Is Also Getting Into Acting
Yu, who was born on October 5, 2002, is an 18-year-old libra. She and Matarazzo went to the same high school and went to the same prom. She, like Matarazzo, aspires to be a musical theater performer. Yu received praise for her performance with the Pinelands Thespians. They won a drama competition held on the Montclair State University stage thanks to their outstanding performance.
Furthermore, Yu is adored by Matarazzo’s family. The actor stated that his brother and sister all get along well with her. Matarazzo is best known for his role as the endearing Dustin in Netflix’s Stranger Things. More seasoned fans will recognize him as Gavroche in the 2nd Broadway revival of Les Miserables.
The 18-year-old also sings, uses his platform to raise awareness about cleidocranial dysplasia, and even founded an organization to assist children affected by it, making him a promising figure many know and admire.
