The Cherry Hill Police Department in New Jersey stated on Saturday, August 20, that Point Break actor Gary Busey had been arrested on several s*x crimes charges. According to a police news release, these occurrences happened during the annual Monster Mania Convention, which was held at the Doubletree Hotel in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

The report also said that from August 12 to August 14, Cherry Hill PD responded to complaints concerning alleged s*x violations. Busey was detained by investigators on August 19 after a preliminary inquiry. Busey, 78, was said to have attended the Monster Mania Convention. The nature of the s*xual crimes has not yet been revealed.

Gary Busey was charged with three forms of s*xual misconduct offenses, according to a news statement issued by the Cherry Hill Police Department on Twitter. The actor was charged with two charges of fourth-degree criminal s*xual contact, one case of attempted fourth-degree criminal s*xual contact, and one count of harassment – disorderly people crime.

“Cherry Hill Police responded to the Doubletree Hotel, 2349 West Route 70, during the weekend of the event, August 12th-14th, 2022, for an allegation of an s*x crime. As a consequence of the investigation, Cherry Hill Police Detectives accused Gary Busey, 78, of Malibu, California, on August 19, 2022.”

Gary Busey may face up to thirty days in county prison and penalties if charged with one count of harassment. He might face a no-contact order as well as additional sanctions. There is also the risk that this charge may be upgraded to “simple assault” status after additional investigation, which might result in higher prison terms and penalties.

Meanwhile, Busey faces up to 18 months in jail on two charges of fourth-degree criminal s*xual contact, since such a crime is considered a felony.
