Balogh began playing football as a 13-year-old in 1933 when he founded the German Sports Club Bratislava. He was promoted to the first team for the 1939/40 season. For that, he contested point games in the City League Bratislava, won the German Cup Carpathian at the end of the season, and later represented the club in the city selection. During the Second World War, he ended up in Berlin. He first started for Hertha BSC’s third team, but was quickly “promoted” to the first. He was a member of the Berlin team. As a result, he was the team’s top scorer under coach Hans Sauerwein.
Fritz Balogh also played three games in the 1944 German Championship Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg – one of initially 16 and later 23 spiked Gauligen the era of National Socialism as a uniform and highest league in the German Reich – 19 point games in which he scored 22 goals. In the 1942/43 season, he finished third with Hertha BSC in the Gauliga Brandenburg, with 16 appearances and 20 goals. He had two goals. Previously, he played in the Tschammerpokal, a club cup competition, in the first final round on July 13, 1941, losing 1: 2 to Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin.
Since 1945, the half-left has played for Mannheim district club VfL Neckarau, with whom he was promoted to the Oberliga Süd at the end of the season. During the summer of 1946, he was briefly with Phönix Ludwigshafen and – at the start of the 1946/47 season – with VfB Neunkirchen. Still, he returned to Neckarau in the current season and was the second-best league scorer there with 32 goals, trailing Hans Pöschl and ahead of Max Morlock (both 1. FC Nürnberg).
