Francisco started his football career with Vianense before moving on to Porto, Braga, and Palmeiras Braga before making his professional debut with Braga B in the Second Portuguese Division in 2016 at the age of 16. He finished the season with two goals and three assists for the club and made his first team debut in 2018. In 2019, he scored his first goal for the squad, helping the team win the 2019-20 Taca da Liga. Barcelona signed him in January 2020. He scored three goals for Barcelona and helped the squad win the Copa del Rey in 2020-21.
