An American actor Forrie J Smith has announced that he will not be attending the forthcoming Screen Actors Guild Awards due to the event’s coronavirus vaccination requirements. The 62-year-old actor, who plays in the Paramount series Yellowstone, apologized in a now-deleted video on his Instagram page for being unable to attend the awards event. Smith said, without intending to insult anybody, that he has not been vaccinated and hence would be unable to participate in the prize event according to Covid-19 guidelines. According to CNN, he also said that he would not be getting vaccinated. Because he isn’t vaccinated, actor Forrie J. Smith, who portrays ranch hand, Lloyd Pierce on “Yellowstone,” is barred from walking the red carpet…his statements struck a chord in me, and I like this guy very much, even if I’m not a massive fan of the program…
Each ticketed guest must produce evidence of vaccination, including booster doses (if eligible), proof of a negative lab-based Covid-19 PCR test within 48 hours of the event, and proof of a negative antigen test on the day of the event. Smith said he was looking forward to wearing his cowboy hat and boots on the red carpet and “showing my culture and background.”
