Floor Jansen, the main singer of Nightwish, has stated that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Jansen revealed in a message to her followers that she was diagnosed with cancer a little more than two weeks ago and would have surgery to remove the tumor.

The singer wrote about her situation, saying:

“My outlook is excellent. It seems to be a non-aggressive malignancy that has not spread. I’m keeping my breast. And I will be cancer-free following this operation, as well as a local radiation therapy three months later, hopefully.”

She went on to say that she’ll “know more following the procedure to see whether this favorable outlook holds.”

“Cancer is a frightening term. Everything you valued in life before this diagnosis vanishes in an instant. Now all I want is to be well again. I want to survive and watch my daughter develop into a lady!”

Fans extend their love and support to Nightwish frontman Floor Jansen as he shares his diagnosis.

Fans of Floor Jansen flocked to Twitter to show their support for the singer. Some supporters hoped her a swift recovery and said that she will return to normality, just as she had recovered from Covid before. Floor Jansen advises women to get mammograms.

The singer advised ladies to seek regular checkups in her message. Jansen also said that if all goes as planned, she would be back on the road. She said,

“The most terrifying aspect of this diagnosis is that I believed I was healthy!” I didn’t feel the cancer, and I didn’t realize it was there until I went for a routine mammography screening at the age of 40. Something that many nations provide, even for free for the fortunate.”

Jansen went on to say that a mammogram is “lifesaving,” and that every guy should encourage the women in his life to be tested.

“A mammogram may save your life!” It’s unpleasant, and you may believe you won’t have anything in your breasts anyhow but GO!” She stated. “And to the males reading this, please remind your wife, girlfriend, mother, and sister to be examined.” Even without the privilege of free mammograms that I have as a Western woman: GO!”

She ended her letter on a positive note, adding,

“If everything goes as planned, I’ll be ready for the NIGHTWISH European tour, which begins on November 20th!” And I’m upbeat since my outlook is favorable! I pledge to look after myself. I’m going to disconnect for a moment to concentrate on myself.”
