Floor is Lava details ahead of its debut.
Netflix’s YouTube account has released a teaser for season 3 of the program, along with a short synopsis:
“Fifteen brave new teams compete for $10,000 by racing to the peak of a huge volcano. Who will prevail and who will be defeated?”
In line with past seasons, players will navigate an obstacle course in a chamber filled with 80,000 US gallons of a slippery, brilliant red liquid that represents boiling lava. Teams will have to maneuver between items above the “lava,” climb up a studio-built mountain and eventually reach the exit without falling in. When a player falls into the lava, they are out of the game. Their team member, on the other hand, is permitted to continue and try to finish the race. Rutledge Wood wonderfully captures the spirit of the game in the trailer:
“Floor Is Lava returns for a new season. What about the lava? Hotter. The massive volcano? Hotter. Who is the host? Still really hot.”
Who is the Season 3 host of Floor is Lava?
Rutledge Wood, an auto racing commentator, and TV program presenter, was one of three hosts (together with Adam Ferrara and Tanner Foust) for History’s Top Gear, which aired on November 21, 2010. Aside from that, he presented Speed Road Tour Challenge in 2007 and was a regular on NASCAR Trackside until 2013. Wood and Adam Carolla won the Pro Category in the 2013 Long Beach Toyota Celebrity Race 2013. He is the host of American Barbecue Showdown, which premieres in September 2020, in addition to Floor is Lava.
Floor Is Lava aired on Netflix on June 19, 2020. Although it competed with other comparable programs, including ABC’s Don’t and Fox’s Ultimate Tag, it established itself on the ott platform and became a fan favorite. It gained popularity after being featured in the Netflix mockumentary Death in 2020. It was then renewed for a second season in April 2021.
