On September 7, 2022, Ezekiel Kelly broke into a vehicle on a Memphis city road and began a mass shooting. Around 12:56 a.m., he started his shooting spree. His first murder occurred along Lyndale Avenue. Then he continued grooming on the city’s highways for about 14 hours. And about 4:38 p.m a report was recorded that a guy is fatally shot on South Parkway East. The police then examined CCTV video in which the susp ect, Mr. Ezekiel, was seen firing several bullets at a local guy and killing him. After murdering a guy on South Parkway East for two minutes, the lady was shot in the legs near the crossroads of Norris Road and Interstate 240. Ezekiel then continued driving his sedan car down Norris Road.
Police reported at 6 p.m. that a guy was discovered horribly wounded outside of an AutoZone on Jackson Avenue, with many gunshots in his chest. Around 6 p.m., Ezekiel went live on Facebook, where he was seen killing a man inside AutoZone and then fleeing. Police learned from their intelligence around 6:12 p.m. that the suspect’s name is Ezekiel Kelly. The police then continued their hunt for Ezekiel. Police sent many warnings over social media and radio stations, but Ezekiel refused to listen. Around 7:23 p.m., he shot and killed a lady on Popular Avenue. He hurt another guy on the same street a few minutes later. At 9 p.m., police discovered a wounded lady on West Raines Road, who subsequently died. After 9 p.m., police were able to locate Ezekiel and eventually capture him.
Charges
Ezekiel Kelly was brought before the Shelby County courthouse to face the many allegations. When Kelly stood in front of judge Karen Masset he indicated that he required counsel. Jennifer Case, a public defender, was defending him at the time. At the next hearing, he will face further charges. Right now he is already in police detention on the charges of a felony conviction, aggravated assault, and first-degree murder.
