After being separated for nearly a year, DWTS pair Sasha Farber and Emma Slater officially filed for divorce on February 21, 2023. According to formal court papers, the pair cited “irreconcilable disagreements” as the cause for the official split, with the official date of separation set for April 1, 2022. Sasha Farber proposed to Emma during a live DWTS show in October 2016, and the couple married two years later. He said during the proposal:
“I’ve desired to do this for a long time, Sweetheart. I adore you to pieces. Will you wed me?”

Sasha Farber and Emma Slater of DWTS temporarily split after three years of dating.
The DWTS pair first encountered on the stage of Scorch The Floor on Broadway, and they verified their engagement two years later in 2011. However, after three years together, they terminated their romance in 2014 but decided to stay pals and collaborate closely. Emma told Vogue that she thinks the world of Sasha and that the two were still living together when they temporarily split up. The performer went on to say that he was the greatest person and that she would not have been so close to him for three years if she hadn’t thought the world of him.
She went on to say:
“He’s simply the greatest guy. I don’t believe we’re meant to end together. I believe there are other individuals who could make us both happy, but I will always be his closest buddy. Right now, I feel like his closest buddy. It just occurred in the manner we transitioned from a wonderful three-year partnership that I adore and treasure to closest friends.”
She conveyed her happiness with their living accommodations and her admiration for him. Emma stated that they both recognized things weren’t proceeding as they should have, so they grew and made that decision. She went on to state that they were still in love and that he was the only one she had in America. They resolved to stick together because she desired the best for him.
The DWTS pair reunited and chose to give love another chance a year later, in 2015, and Slater proposed a year later. In a discussion with Us, Farber said that Emma and Sasha’s wedding was something out of a fairy story. He went on to say that he continued telling his new bride how lovely she was.
Emma went on to say:
“We are currently on top of the planet. It was the most incredible day. It was truly incredible. There was no mishap. It was fantastic. It was amazing. ‘This isn’t usual,’ I kept telling myself. This is not typical. This should never happen.’ It went so well, and it was a celebration from the time we arrived upstairs to the banquet until late at night.”
According to an insider, the DWTS pair divorced in August 2022, and there was no enmity between them at the time. The couple recently filed for divorce. DWTS just finished season 31 and has been extended for a second season on Disney+.
