Her Profession: From Celebrity Stylist to Actress
Tran, who is now a well-known actress, worked in a variety of non-actor jobs after graduating from a graphic design program at a community college in Los Angeles. The actor, who is of American descent, was reared in Los Angeles by her Jamaican godmother and cousin’s sister. She also has a younger maternal half-brother with an English father.
In an interview with Sway Calloway on Sway in the Morning in September 2017, Tran discussed her family history and how she cherished growing up in an ethnically mixed home.
She claimed to be half Black and half Vietnamese, and that she had been reared by her godmother from birth.
