Donovan Mcnabb Biography
Donovan McNabb was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 25, 1976. He graduated from Mount Carmel High School. He played with two future NFL players, Matt Cushing and Simeon Rice, during his second year there. Several colleges offered him admission after completing his education.
He eventually decided to attend Syracuse University and play for the university’s Orange group football team. This university was chosen because of his keen interest in football as well as the broadcasting journalism program it offered.
In 2002, the university appointed him as one of the board’s youngest trustees. Donovan also played basketball at Syracuse and was a member of the NCAA Men’s Division Basketball Tournament in 1996. In April 2014, he was sentenced to one day in jail in Arizona for drinking and driving.
On June 28, 2015, he was arrested again in Arizona for driving under the influence and causing an accident. He was sentenced to 90 days this time (18 in jail & remaining under house arrest). He was also fined $6,000 and ordered to serve 30 hours of community service.

Career
The “Eagles” selected Donovan Mcnabb in the first round of the 1999 NFL Draft. He was the second of five quarterbacks recruited. On November 14, 1999, he made his professional debut against “Washington” on his home turf. He threw 21 passes for 60 yards and led his team to a 35-28 victory. After this victory, he became the third “Eagles” quarterback rookie to win his first NFL start, joining Mike Boryla and Ty Detmer. He was also the second rookie among the “Eagles” to start at quarterback, following Brad Goebel.
Donovan was chosen as the first alternate for the NFC Pro Bowl squad in 2000, behind Daunte Culpepper, Jeff Garcia, and Kurt Warner. When Warner was forced to leave the game due to an injury, Donovan stepped in and performed admirably. He fractured his right ankle in a game against the “Arizona Cardinals” in the 11th week of the 2002 season. He led his team to the NFC championship in 2003.
Donovan’s injuries in 2005-07 were particularly upsetting for him. On October 26, 2009, he led his team to another victory over the “Washington Redskins.” Donovan was acquired by the “Washington Redskins” on April 4, 2010, and the “Minnesota Vikings” on July 27, 2011. Donovan announced his retirement from football on July 29, 2013.
