Don Swayze was born on August 10, 1958, in Houston, Texas, USA. Patsy Swayze, a choreographer and dance instructor, and Jesse Wayne Swayze, an engineering draftsman, were his parents. Don was the family’s middle child. He has an older sister, Vickie Lynn, an older brother, Patrick, a younger brother, Sean Kyle, and a younger sister, Bora Song ‘Bambi.’
Don also comes from a wealthy family. John Swasey, an Englishman, was his paternal ancestor. During the Great Migration, John Swasey traveled aboard The Recovery, which landed him in Massachusetts. John Swasey later married Katherine Kinge of Essex, with whom he had seven children. Samuel, their grandson, was among the first members of the family to bear the surname Swayze.
