According to her, the abrupt death of the US-born DJ is startling and difficult to explain. She said that her brother had gone to the hospital because his leg was aching and swollen. The family assumed it was simply a muscular strain since he was prepared to play football. But it came out that he had blood clots in his lungs, pelvis, and leg veins. DJ chose to have surgery to remove the clots, which was supposed to be safe. However, during surgery, a clot traveled to his heart, resulting in a heart attack. Doctors attempted to correct it, but the medication they employed caused his brain to hemorrhage, resulting in catastrophic damage. This left him brain-dead. Before this, the football player was exceptional, even playing the drums at church that morning. She also added that they were still attempting to figure out why this occurred.
