“We are heartbroken to announce that Matthew Ward, alias Mighty Mouse, died unexpectedly last Thursday at his home in Spain.” An aortic aneurysm killed Matthew in his sleep. We’d be adrift without his immense presence and skill.”
The statement went on:
“Our hearts go out to his girlfriend, Ellen, and his mother, Judy, as well as his extended family and many friends and admirers.” Please respect the family’s privacy at this difficult time. Please direct any inquiries and sympathies to his agency.”

While announcing his death, Defected Records stated that DJ Mighty Mouse had an aortic aneurysm, which ultimately led to his death. According to the statement, he was at home at the time of his death, indicating that he was not hospitalized.
An aortic aneurysm is a bulge that develops in the walls of a major blood artery that transports blood from the heart to the body. Aortic aneurysms are classified into two types: abdominal aortic aneurysms and thoracic aortic aneurysms. The former happens in the section of the aorta that runs through the belly, whereas the latter occurs in the section of the aorta that runs through the chest cavity.
The illness increases the likelihood of developing a tear in the inner layer of the aortic wall. The risks of this condition may be lowered by monitoring blood pressure and cholesterol levels and quitting smoking. DJ Mighty Mouse’s medical history is presently missing, thus it is unknown how long he was afflicted with this ailment.
