Career
Between 1963 and 1972, Dickie was a member of the Miami Showband. With the Miami Showband, he had 13 top ten hits, including seven number ones.
In 1965, he and the Miami Showband were the first Irish artists to reach number one with “Every Step of the Way.”

Meanwhile, he sparked the mass hysteria usually reserved for The Beatles. Furthermore, he represented Ireland in the 1966 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Come Back to Stay.”
He entered as a solo artist and came in fourth place in the competition, with his song becoming a number one hit in Ireland. Later that year, in 1973, Rock went solo, though he continued to perform with the Miami Showband on occasion.
