Devin Hester

Devin Hester Jr. is the son of former NFL star Devin Hester. He is just in his early adolescence, but his seasoned football talents are much above his years. Probably the genes! Devin Jr. is the eldest of three kids of the former Bears return specialist and four-time Pro Bowler. His eldest kid is not the only one who shares his passion for football. Well, his second child, Dray, has much more to contribute.

Dray has a liking with the game since he was a kid and now has NFL-caliber skills. Devin Devorris Hester Sr. is a retired American football player who played 11 seasons in the NFL with the Bears, Falcons, Ravens, and Seahawks. Hester was the Chicago Bears’ second-round choice (57th overall) in the 2006 NFL Draft. He was drafted in the same year as renowned NFL players Reggie Bush, Antonio Cromartie, Mario Williams, Vince Young, and Jay Cutler.

He was chosen as a cornerback but excelled as a kick returner and then as a wide receiver. The return specialist is the first and only player to score a touchdown on the Super Bowl’s opening kickoff. Devin is regarded as one of the best return specialists in the NFL, having led the league in punt return yards two times (2006 and 2010) and kickoff return yards twice (2013 and 2014). According to Spotrac, the Miami Hurricanes alum made $29.266 million throughout his NFL career.

He wears jersey number 19 and plays wide receiver there. Aside from football, he plays varsity basketball and baseball, but the former has captured his heart. Devin, who measures 5 feet 10 inches (1.77 meters) and weighs 165 pounds, verbally committed to Furman University on June 22, 2023. After six months, he signed a letter of intent to play college football with the Furman Paladins on December 20, 2023.

He selected Furman over Wake Forest, Dartmouth, Kent State, Liberty, Appalachian State, Eastern Michigan, and Georgia Southern. Devin Jr., unlike many NFL players’ kids who have been interested in football at an early age, never expected to acquire a love for the game. Instead, he competed in high school track and field events. He participated in the Loch Johnson Invitational, the GHSA 4A State Championships, and the North Oconee FAT All-Comers Meet. As a junior, he ran 11.07 for 100 meters and jumped 20-9.5 meters.
