Denise started her performing career when she was 12 years old. She appeared on stage with the McGann siblings in Yakkety-Yak at the Astora Theatre in London in 1983. She soon joined the Live Theatre Company in Newcastle, where she appeared in several shows including There’s a Girl in My Soup, Bedroom Farce, and others.
