DeMarco Murray was born on February 12, 1988, in Las Vegas, Nevada, to Lorraine Travis and Kevin Murray. In terms of education, he attended Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he played football, and basketball, and ran track.
In football, his team won the Conference Championship three times. His outstanding performances earned him the Sunset Region Offensive Player of the Year award in 2005. In basketball, he averaged 6.9 points per game and was a member of the 2005 state championship team. In track and field, he ran the 100-meter dash and was a member of the 4100-meter relay team. He then accepted an offer to attend the University of Oklahoma and play college football there.

DeMarco Murray made his college football debut for the Oklahoma Sooners on September 1, 2007, against the North Texas Mean Green, rushing for 87 yards and scoring five touchdowns to help the team win. He became the first player in school history to score four touchdowns in his debut during this game.
He went on to play for the Oklahoma Sooners for the next three seasons, and his performances were stellar. His college records include numerous impressive feats such as being the all-time leader in touchdowns (65) and all-purpose yards (6,718). The Dallas Cowboys selected him in the 2011 NFL Draft.
He agreed to a four-year contract with them. He had a fantastic 2011 season, setting numerous records and earning numerous honors, including being named NFL Rookie of the Month for November of 2011 and setting a rookie rushing record for a game in franchise history against the St. Louis Rams. By the end of the 2011 season, he led all NFL rookie players (with 40 or more carries) in yards per game and average per carrying (5.5). (69.0 yards). He finished the 2012 season with 161 carries for 663 yards and four rushing touchdowns, and he was ranked 87th on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2014.
He finished the 2014 season with 392 carries, 1,845 yards, and 13 touchdowns. His outstanding play helped the team win the NFC East and earned him the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year award. He was then traded to and played for the Tennessee Titans during the 2016 season, and he was ranked 33rd on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2017.
He also appeared in the 2017 season for the Tennessee Titans. He was released by the Titans on March 8, 2018, and he retired on July 13, 2018.
