In high school, De’Anthony Melton was voted Mission League Player of the Year and won All-CIF Southern Section Division I honors after averaging 18.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. He made an immediate impact on the Trojans as a rookie in 2016-17. He appeared in all 36 games and averaged 8.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.9 steals.
