According to his family, famed British actor David Warner died on Sunday, July 24, at the age of 80. Warner allegedly died at Denville Hall, a medical and assisted living facility in Northwood, London. Many celebrities from the United Kingdom have died at the hospital. In a statement sent by his family, they stated:
“We, his family, and friends will mourn him much, and he will be remembered as a kind-hearted, kind, and caring man, partner, and parent, whose legacy of amazing work has touched the lives of so many over the years. We are devastated.”
Warner had over sixty years of experience as a stage and TV/feature film actor, including parts such as Ed Dillinger/Sark/The Master Control Program in Disney’s 1982 classic Tron. The octogenarian was also renowned for his role as Spicer Lovejoy in Titanic in 1999. In 2018, Disney cast him as Admiral Boom in Mary Poppins Returns. The late actor was survived by his longtime girlfriend Lisa Bowerman and his son Luke.
David Warner Has Died After A Lengthy Fight With Cancer
According to a statement issued to the BBC by David Warner’s family, the late actor had been fighting illness for some time. The actor was diagnosed with cancer eighteen months before his death, according to the statement.
According to David Warner’s family statement:
“He accepted his diagnosis with customary elegance and dignity during the last 18 months.”
While the family did not disclose the sort of cancer or its extent, it is understood to have been advanced. According to the family statement, the 80-year-old Manchester native was diagnosed with the terminal condition in early January last year or late December 2020.

As word of David Warner’s passing spread via UK-based media sites, a flood of tweets paid respect to the late actor. Many celebrities flocked to Twitter to offer their condolences to Warner and to recognize his contributions to the business. Aside from his most well-known appearances in Tron and Titanic, some fans praised his work in films such as 1966’s Morgan: A Suitable Case For Treatment and 1976’s horror masterpiece The Omen. Warner has acted in a variety of horror roles, making him a well-known figure in the 1970s. In addition to The Omen, he has already worked on horror masterpieces such as Nightwing (1979), Waxwork (1988), and Tripwire (1990).
Furthermore, Warner’s appearances as Chancellor Gorkon, St. John Talbot, and Gul Madred in the Star Trek franchise made him a well-known face among Star Trek fans. Warner also provided famous voices for DC villain Ra’s al Ghul in Batman: The Animated Series in the 1990s and Batman: Beyond in the 2000s.
