Ali Stroker and David Perlow’s relationship

Ali Stroker and David Perlow met in college and again in 2015 at the Deaf West Theatre staging of Spring Awakening. Stroker recently told a news source that Perlow is stunning. Stroker was confined to a wheelchair after suffering a spinal cord injury in a vehicle accident when she was two years old. Perlow was the one who stood by her when she won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical, the only performer in a wheelchair to do so.

Stroker recalled this and said:

“He was extremely kind at the Tonys, asking which side I wanted him on for photographs. I look at those photos and think, ‘That’s my dream.’ To discover this companion that wants to be by my side and is ecstatic about me.’ Arriving at this point in my profession and having this connection means so much to me.”
