Pink Floyd’s iconic vocalist, David Gilmour, is happily married. He has been married to his wife, novelist Polly Samson, since 1994. Charlie Gilmour (1989), Joe Gilmour (1995), and Gabriel Gilmour (1997) are the couple’s three boys, while Romany Gilmour (1997) is their daughter (2002). Charlie is not David’s real son; he was born to Samson and her ex-husband, Heathcote Williams.
“I arrived on the scene when Charlie was two,” David said of meeting Charlie. “I adored Polly, and I adored her son.” He was incredible.” In addition, the 75-year-old singer has four additional children from his previous marriage to model and artist Virginia “Ginger” Hasenbein. Alice Gilmour, his first child, was born in 1976, followed by Clare Gilmour in 1979, Sara Gilmour in 1983, and Matthew Gilmour in 1986.

David Gilmour adored being a father to his children.
During a prior interview with The Guardian in August 2016, David discussed his parenting experiences, noting that he enjoyed being a father to all of his children. He said that he was often gone from home due to business obligations. But it didn’t stop him from being an outstanding parent, as he always made sure he took care of them while he was near them.
“I adore being a parent,” he remarked, adding, “it’s full of hassles and annoyances and everything, but the fantastic times are just so amazing.” They’re beautiful. There are such times, and they have occurred with all of my children.” The iconic musician also remembered caring for his wife Polly and raising his adoptive son Charlie when he had just recently married her and had yet to receive their other three children. He said that his wife had glandular fever and was unwell, so he was content to get up early, cook breakfast, and drop Charlie, then two, off at school in Highgate.
David Gilmour and Romany Gilmour Make Music Together
David and his Romany are often seen performing music together and enthralling audiences. For example, on April 26, 2021, the singer went to Instagram to upload a video of him and his daughter performing their rendition of ‘The Magpie,’ which was originally performed by David Dodds. “This one was in honor of the publication of @charliegilmour’s Fatherhood biography,” he captioned.

“Romany has a great voice,” an admirer said, impressed by Romany’s skill. “What a gorgeous family you have; your family is important,” said another enthusiast. In addition, David spends time with other family members, either by going out together or by entertaining them at home with his strong songs. In June 2021, for example, he went out to lunch with his wife Polly and son Charlie in London. The musician seemed to be in excellent spirits as he grinned back at those who recognized him while strolling down the street with his family.
