David Archuleta was inspired by the Les Miserables video and began singing at the age of six. He won the kid section of the Utah Talent Competition when he was ten years old. At the age of 12, he was crowned Junior Vocal Champion. In 2008, Archuleta competed in the seventh season of American Idol, finishing in second place.
