On June 20, 2022, the original Tiktokroom posted a screenshot of Michael Weist’s declaration about his feud with YouTuber Danielle Cohn. Weist said that he had sued Cohn and that they were due in court on June 23, 2022. He also said that he had filed a lawsuit against Cohn’s boyfriend, Mason Patterson.
Netizens had different views in the comments area, with some thinking Weist should have left Cohn alone, while others said he did the right thing and that Cohn deserved it. “Why do you want to bring it to social media, buddy wtf?” one person defended Cohn. We don’t mind. It is your concern, not ours.”
Another user said, “Oh my my, leave her alone; whatever occurs in her life has nothing to do with you, my buddy.” However, several people defended Weist. “For those wondering why he’s suing Danielle Cohn and Mason, it’s for defamation and she didn’t honor her contract with him, same with Mason,” one person noted.
Michael Weist and Danielle Cohn’s Disagreement
It all began when Cohn rose to stardom on YouTube and TikTok and utilized it to launch her music career. Her mother initially managed her career, but when admirers recommended her to engage a professional manager, she ended up working with Weist. She came out about how her relationship with Weist deteriorated after he reportedly lied about her income and contract in a video titled ‘Addressing The Hate + Full Truth.’
She didn’t use Weist’s name, but followers knew she was talking about him. This new manager was accused of stealing from her. She further said that this manager informed her he fabricated her name and claimed ownership of her. The YouTuber expressed sorrow for listening to her followers. She often said that she trusted her mother more than “strangers” since they had stolen from her.
Danielle Cohn’s Response to Michael Weist
Weist released a video titled ‘The Truth About My Client Danielle Cohn’ on August 22, 2021, in which he discussed his connection with Cohn. He said that he was filming this video to explain some things mentioned about him. Weist detailed all he had done for Cohn and her mother, Jennifer, from paying for Cohn’s birthday meals to assisting them with packing when they relocated to Los Angeles from Florida.
Furthermore, he was yet to get compensated for all of the music videos he had created. The manager also addressed the events surrounding Cohn’s documentary ‘Obsessed.’ Weist said that he stopped recording the documentary when things became too gloomy. Cohn’s mother was accused of “pimping her daughter” and abusing her daughter for money. The manager then addressed the claims made by Cohn in the preceding video. Weist acknowledged stealing no money from her and solely claimed income from the documentary he created. He further said that he will sue Cohn and her mother for defamation and slander. And it now seems that he was not joking.
